Tour Plan

Day 1 Pristina Airport – Pristina

Upon arrival at Pristina Airport, we’ll transfer you to the city for check-in. Then, enjoy a walking tour of the main attractions, including Pristina’s Ottoman-period mosques, with the most beautiful being the Fatih Mosque, dating back to 1461, during the reign of Sultan Mehmet II. Nearby is the Çarshia Mosque, built in 1389, along with the Clock Tower, the Monument to Scanderbeg (Albanian National Hero), and the striking Newborn Monument, created to celebrate Kosovo’s declaration of independence in February 2008. Overnight in Pristina.

Day 2 Pristina – Gracanica – Ulpiana – Prizren – Gadima Cave – Pristina

After breakfast, we depart for the stunning Gracanica Orthodox Monastery, located just outside of Pristina. Founded in 1321 by Serbian King Stefan Milutin, it was placed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List in 2006 for its cultural significance. A short drive south, we visit the archaeological site of Ulpiana, once the capital of the Illyrian Kingdom of Dardania, later flourishing under Roman rule as Urb Splendisima. Continue through the beautiful Sharr Mountains to Prizren, Kosovo’s second-largest city, where we visit the 17th-century Sinan Pasha Mosque, the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, and the 14th-century Our Lady of Ljevis Church, adorned with stunning frescoes, which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage site. On the way back to Pristina, stop at Gadima Cave (Marble Cave), a karst limestone cave discovered in 1966 and still largely unexplored. Return to Pristina for the night.

Day 3 Pristina – Peja – Decan – Gjakova – Pristina

In the morning, drive to Peja to visit the Patriarchate of Peja, a religious complex built in the 13th century, consisting of three small churches, all with beautiful frescoes. This site is also part of UNESCO’s World Heritage list. Next, we visit the Decan Monastery, considered the largest medieval church in the Balkans, featuring beautifully preserved frescoes and also listed as a UNESCO site for its historical significance. The monastery was built by Serbian King Stefan Urosh and his son Stefan Dushan. Afterward, we continue to Gjakova to explore its Grand Bazaar, believed to be the oldest in Kosovo, and visit the Hadum Aga Mosque (16th century). Return to Pristina for the night.

Day 4 Pristina – Battle of Kosovo Monument – Sultan Murad I Tomb – Airport

After breakfast, time permitting, we visit the Battle of Kosovo Monument, dedicated to the historic 1389 battle between the Balkan Alliance, led by Prince Lazar, and the Ottoman forces under Sultan Murad I. Both leaders perished in the battle. A few miles from the monument is the symbolic Tomb of Sultan Murad I, built by his son, Bayezid I, making it the oldest Ottoman monument in Kosovo. Afterward, transfer to the airport for your departure.
